Football Blues

Why so sad?

Let me list the causes:

I’m virtually last in my fantasy league with zero chance of seeing any return on my money.

The bears need a small miracle to make it to the playoffs.

Too many non Sunday afternoon football games. For example the bears played on last thursday and will not play again until Monday. The worst part of that is that they could be knocked out before their game starts with a Vikings win.

Anyway, I’ll be metaphorically doing some live animal sacrifice to ensure a positive outcome.

Da Bears Blow Up Again

Monday, December 1st, 2008

After looking phenomenal in the first quarter, the Chicago Bears managed to lose a very important game against the Minnesota Vikings. I was really annoyed when the announcer quoted coach Lovie Smith as saying “the Bears dominated the first half.” That being said, the coach (when questioned about going for it on 4th down with inches to the Goal) stated if you can’t make that play, you don’t deserve to win. Apparently, they didn’t deserve to win.
